A memorable event took place last Sunday at the Egorievsk Sports Palace – a boxing match between the Team of the Moscow Region and the Team of the Republic of Crimea. In addition, for the first time in Yegoryevsk, a rating fight took place between the IBO World Boxing Champion Roman Seliverstov and the winner of the 2014 Moscow Professionals League Valerie Essomba Ngona (Cameroon). The reason for holding such a large-scale event is the 20th anniversary of the Boxing Club in the city of Yegoryevsk. The meeting caused an unprecedented excitement among the residents of the city. Tickets were all sold out, a series of cars stretched to the Sports Palace, all possible parking spaces were occupied, the stands were full of fans. The military band greeted the audience with the musical theme from the movie Rocky. On this day, the hall was attended not only by fans of this spectacular sport, but also by those who stood at the origins of boxing in Yegorievsk. Those who defended the honor of our city, region, country in sports rings, who instilled and continue to instill the love of boys and girls for this martial art. These are trainers-teachers of the boxing section, masters of sports: Raskostov Sergey Eduardovich, Tishchenko Gennady Ivanovich, Platonov Vladimir Yuryevich. Zinaida Timofeevna Lemesheva, the widow of Vyacheslav Lemeshev, whose name the Boxing Club bears, also honored this event with her presence. And, of course, the meeting was attended by pupils of the boxing club – the pride and hope of boxing in Yegorievsk. Remarkable athletes, professionals, masters of sports, winners of the Russian boxing championship, participants of the European Boxing Championship, winners of International and All-Russian tournaments. These guys and their mentors were honored in the presence of a crowd of thousands. Many warm words were addressed to the guests of honor, and Diplomas and Gratitudes were also presented for the huge work done in the field of physical culture and sports, for assistance in the formation and development of a boxing club on Yegorievsk land, for high sports results, as well as assistance in organizing this match meeting. Gratitude of the Head was presented to Platonov Vladimir Yuryevich (Trainer, teacher of the boxing section of the municipal social institution Shield and Sword Youth Center), Fokin Vladimir Sergeevich (candidate for master of sports, trainer, teacher of the boxing section of the municipal social institution Shield and Sword Youth Center, Samoilov Dmitry Anatolyevich (Head of the Egorievsk public organization Sports Club named after the Lemeshev Brothers) and Krykanov Dmitry Vyacheslavovich (Chairman of the Board of Directors of the G Group Group of Companies).Gratitude of the Council of Deputies of the Yegoryevsk municipal district was announced to Tishchenko Gennady Ivanovich (master of sports of the USSR in boxing, judge of the international category, trainer-teacher of the boxing section of the Shield and Sword Medical Center), Raskostov Sergey Eduardovich (master of sports of the USSR in boxing, trainer-teacher of the section Boxing MC Shield and Sword), Fokin Pavel Valentinovich (Director of the Municipal Institution Palace of Sports Egorievsk ), Demkina Galina Nikolaevna (Director of the Municipal Social Institution Youth Center Shield and Sword ). Also, the staff of the Youth Center Shield and Sword was presented with a memorable gift from the administration of the Yegoryevsky municipal district and the council of deputies of the Yegoryevsky municipal district: a music center. Pupils of the boxing section, candidates for the master of sports were awarded with Diplomas of the Committee for Sports and Youth. And this is more than 20 athletes. The head of the district, Alexander Grechishchev, and the Chairman of the Council of Deputies, Mikhail Trofimovich Lavrov, were awarded the Diploma from the Boxing Federation. Many awards and thanks were presented on this day. But the most important awards were ahead. And after rewarding the worthy, a sports march sounded. The panel of judges and the teams went to build. It is very symbolic that the match meeting between the Team of the Moscow Region and the Team of the Republic of Crimea took place on the Day of National Unity and Accord. After the welcoming words of the Head of the Egorievsk municipal district A.V. Grechishchev and the Honored Worker of Physical Culture and Sports of the Republic of Crimea, Honored Trainer, Master of Sports of the USSR in boxing Sobolevsky Valentin Ivanovich, the Assistant Chief Referee reported on the readiness for the competition and the team captains raised the flag of the Russian Federation to the sounds of the Russian anthem. Competitions are open! Nine weight categories and eighteen athletes. Ten juniors and eight men fought for the right to be considered the best. Athletes in the men's categories have dozens of fights behind them, in most of which they won. Fans vehemently supported the athletes of the Moscow Region National Team. But the Sevastopol athletes also deserved applause in worthy fights. The national teams went nose to nose, but the team of the Moscow Region won by one point. By the decision of the panel of judges, the Best Boxer of the Crimean National Team was determined, which became Maksim Konyshev (Sevastopol). And the best boxer of the Moscow Region Team – Malsagov Ilez (Odintsovo). All participants of the meeting, as well as the panel of judges, were presented with memorable souvenirs autographed by Vyacheslav Lemeshev himself. These gifts were provided by Zinaida Timofeevna Lemesheva. And ahead of the audience was waiting for the most exciting spectacle: a rating fight between the IBO World Boxing Champion Roman Seliverstov and the winner of the 2014 Moscow Professional League Valerie Essomba Ngona (Cameroon).Throughout four rounds of stubborn struggle, the audience arrived in suspense. Supporting shouts came from the stands: “Come on, Roman!”, “Keep up!”, “Hold on, Roman!”. And the novel did not fail his fans, winning. The audience rejoiced. A little later, the fans attacked the athletes, wanting to take a picture as a keepsake. Despite the fact that such a sporting event was held in Yegoryevsk for the first time, the match meeting was at an excellent level.
